Artist's Description
Located in the National Historic District of Jekyll Island, the Moss Cottage was built in 1896 by E. V. Macy of the famed Macy's Department Store family. A member of the Jekyll Island Club, Macy and his family often spent the winter months on the island, resting and relaxing alongside other millionaires in the Club, which dissolved in the 1940s. Today the restored cottage is open for public viewing.
