Bruce Gourley Selected As Grand Prize Winner Of The 2014 Yellowstone Park Foundation Photo Contest

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Bruce Gourley of Manhattan, Montana has been selected as the grand prize winner of the 2014 Yellowstone Park Foundation's "Capturing Wonderland" photo contest. Gourley's grand prize winning photograph, entitled "Beehive Geyser Shower in Black and White," is a black and white image of Beehive Geyser erupting in a cascading shower of spray. The image was selected from a field of nearly 1,200 entries in the worldwide photo contest. Tom Murphy, renowned nature photographer, judged the contest and selected the winning photo.

Asked to describe his experience in Yellowstone National Park, Gourley noted: "I first visited Yellowstone in 1987 ... From May to October, I'm in the Park weekly, camera in hand. The wildness and variety I never tire of, whether on a trail or from the roadside. And I've enjoyed getting to know so many people over time -- rangers, concessionaire employees, photographers, wolf watchers, geyser gazers, and others."
