Yellowstone National Park's Mammoth Hot Springs Terrace features a variety of thermal formations created as upwelling, mineral-laden water deposits layer after layer of silica and other minerals. Although much of the Terrace is slowly dying as the upwelling water dries up, some portions remain both active and very colorful.
